Yet
again, BMW pulls endlessly at our heart strings. They have tuned new
lightweight and oh-so-sweet 135i for 2013 to create the2013 135is coupe and soft-top convertible, up on power when compared with the standard six-cylinder 135i and featuring plenty of M-Sport performance parts.
As we mourn the loss of the instant-classic 2011 135i M Coupe,
at 320 horsepower and 317 lb-ft. of torque BMW’s newest 1-Series at is
down just 15 horses and 15 lb-ft. compared to the M model and costs
thousands less.
Pricing
will start at $44,145 for the coupe and $48,845 for the convertible. If
you’re cross-shopping, that’s around $4k more than the 135i and $9-13k
less than the 335is line, with its identical and power output.
Upgrades
include plenty of M-Sport parts, including a new performance exhaust,
stainless steel foot pedals and sport seats with blue stitching. The
135is’s lightweight steel M-Sport suspension is designed to shave off a
few pounds and should provide for a thrilling drive.
